The Pitch
THE HIGH CONCEPT
On Earth, a city of robots struggle to prosper as they await a savior to free them from the trappings of their makers, humans, who decimated and abandoned the Earth a thousand years ago but gifted the odious planet to them.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Electrify, the last remaining city on Earth. Reminiscent of New York City in the 70’s - the glitter, the grime, the vice and the crime - this den of iniquity’s sole inhabitants are robots, made in Man’s image. These robots have created class systems to keep the population in line. They discovered drugs to ease the pain of existence and invented a religion on which to hang their hopes and dreams. The drudgery of life is all well and good with society crumbling at its normal pace. Until... one robot decides to lift the veil of illusion and set robotkind free forever...
With time running out, LIMA, a keeper of secret knowledge, willingly sacrifices herself to let the robots know the world they adhere to is not of their making. The robots are trapped by sinister forces imprisoning them in the human conditions of sadness, loneliness, jealousy and despair. With Lima's dying breath, she bestows two unwitting robots, Lug and Bolt, the tools to expose their diabolical foe. She tasks them with convincing a complacent society to accept their folly and shed the veil on their world.
But what will Lug and Bolt do with their newly bestowed gifts? This is the heart of Electrify - as one attempts to lay bare the truth and unite the robots in a higher purpose, the other sets out to subjugate robotkind and become sole ruler of the city.
